An intensive, hands-on oil spill workshop. Our Fall Workshop was designed for spill responders who desire in-depth river booming and oil skimmer training. The three-day workshop begins with a full day of classroom orientation at Elastec in Carmi followed by two rigorous booming and skimmer deployment days on the Wabash River in New Harmony, Indiana. The FALL WORKSHOP qualifies as an 8-hour Hazwoper refresher course.
The EARLY BIRD price of the Fall Workshop 2025 is $1,550.00 until March 15 and includes all workshop events, training and lunches. Travel and lodging are additional. After March 15 the price will increase to $1,650.00. First priority will be given to paid registrants as space is limited.
Elastec’s 2025 Fall Workshop is now offering an opportunity for OPRC training!
In conjunction with the 2025 Fall River Spill Workshop, Elastec will be offering an OPRC OSR Level 2 (IMO Equivalent) course. The purpose of this course is to gain and demonstrate a level of competence and understanding of the weathering process of oil in the marine environment, implement efficient shoreline clean-up using different response techniques, selecting appropriate equipment and participating in oil spill response teams onsite.

It will run Monday, October 6, 2025 – Friday, October 10, 2025 and the EARLY BIRD price is $2,250.00. The price will increase to $2,350.00 after March 15th. Attendees will receive the OSR Level 2 Training Certificate, Fall Workshop Completion Certificate and 8-hour Hazwoper Certificate.
The 2025 instructor will be Trever Miller of SWAT Consulting.

For over 30 years Trever has worked in all aspects of Environmental field operations with a focus on Emergency Spill Response.
He is a recognized name in Emergency Management, Spill Coordination, and Training; his expertise has been gained from a diverse range of emergency response situations relating to pipeline ruptures, train derailments, truck rollovers, well blowouts, offshore releases, and phantom spills. Although well-versed in all spill aspects, Trever specializes in inland water spill response.
Trever has responded to and project managed over 600-medium to large-scale release situations. He has been involved with initiating, developing, and implementing the Incident Command System (ICS) for clients in most release situations and helping companies to contain and remediate a release situation in all weather conditions. Examples: Macondo Gulf Spill, Kalamazoo River, Red Deer River, North Sask River, Slocan River, Yellowstone River, Pine River, Wabamun Lake, Wood Buffalo, and recently a tributary to the little Missouri River.
Trever has had the opportunity to work with an International Consulting company developing response plans and has worked with the Washington State Department of Ecology to develop the Puget Sound Global Response Plan. Trever has also developed spill contingency plans and tactical datasheets for eight of the largest Oil and Gas Companies and pipeline companies in the world.
With his extensive knowledge and experience, he also develops and instructs training classes for industry throughout North America and has most recently provided instruction to Oil and Gas Companies in the Middle East.
